Beginner's Bluegrass Jam Class and Slow Jam
For all instruments. No registration required. Drop-ins welcome.
Cost is $10 per session.
Knowledge of basic chords and the ability to execute chord changes is required. Bass players are required to be at the intermediate level to participate in class.
We meet every Saturday from September through May and we offer two classes:
— Morning class from 10AM to 1PM
— Afternoon class from 1PM to 4PM
The morning class is an introduction to Taborgrass and caters to beginning level, first year students and returning students that want to improve their technique or try a new instrument.
The afternoon class is a little faster for returning students and for beginning and intermediate level players that want to continue learning new tunes and songs.
Music: Visit the music page and you will find over 60 songs and tunes in our catalog. Find the song you tune you desire to learn and we have provided the sheet music for your instrument and an Introduction MP3 that talks a little about the history of the song, and a Lesson MP3 that gives you a slow back up track to practice to.
Events: On the events page we’ve listed festivals and shows we highly recommend or your enjoyment and education.
Scholarship Fund: If you REALLY want it, but REALLY can’t afford it, Taborgrass has established a scholarship fund to help pay for classes, workshops, etc. If you need an instrument and can’t afford one, we have some available to loan. Also, if you CAN afford it or have an instrument around the house that you are not playing, we gladly welcome your contributions.
Subscribe to our Website: This is a good way to keep updated on Taborgrass activities and events. We won't give your info to anyone else and we only send out announcements that are of interest to class participants.
